For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

However, it's a good choice for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot cleaner with mop vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. It also mops using a single pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
