The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot hoover vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than the other options, making it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot vacuums that mop (Choozmo writes) mops and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the automatic vacuum and mop. It's simple to set up and works well, but this is something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan map which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to keep certain areas of your house from being cleaned with a mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect an enormous amount of hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs while other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to let you know that it was starting and working towards its goal.

The app was too basic and you had to change the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our test, but it also has distinctive features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base comes with several control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic vacuum cleaner emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
