3 Wheel All Terrain Pushchair

A pushchair that is all-terrain and has outstanding maneuverability will work whether you're looking for a buggy for walking in the woods or for a stroll on the main street. These types typically have big wheels and offer impressive suspension for smooth rides over bumps and rough ground.

Tnicci Tinum and egg 2 do come with this option, and both provide an excellent level of off-road capability and an adequate weight limit for a 2-year old. There are a variety of pushchairs that are classed as all-rounders like the iCandy Pear and Bugaboo Cameleon, which cope very well with the rough terrain found in park or National Trust places but don't offer the off-road performance of true all-terrain pushchairs.

There are also crossover models, which are a great alternative to extreme off-road and high street and offer excellent all-terrain capabilities with large wheels and great suspension but they're designed more in the typical pushchair style with reversible seats as well as full carrycot options and are suitable for use on a daily basis. Brands like iCandy, Easywalker and Bugaboo have produced some excellent models to look at.

Wheels

All-terrain pushchairs are a must if you live in the countryside or take your child on regular walks over rough terrain. This model can be used even from birth with a carrycot or a lying-flat chair.

Another option is the iCandy Peach All-Terrain, which comes with large tyres and one steering 3 wheel double pushchair at the front. It's not as flexible as other strollers with all-terrain wheels on this list, but it can handle hilly terrain well and features a large, one-handed fold that's great for long walks in the countryside or long journeys. It is also suitable for babies and has a spacious, extendable canopy, an adjustable handlebar, and a generously sized basket.

Storage

There are excellent all-terrain pushchairs designed for parents who want to take their child off-road, but do not want to tackle Ben Nevis. They provide the best of both. Choose one that has all-terrain capabilities, sturdy suspension, and large puncture-proof wheels, but is constructed in a traditional pushchair design with reversible seating as well as full carrycot options.

UPPAbaby's popular Ridge all-terrain pushchair is a good example. It comes with a fantastic suspension and a single-hand fold and a spacious basket that can carry up to 10kg. It also comes with many parent-friendly features, including an adjustable handlebar and an operator-operated break on the right. A hood that can be removed and brushed down with cool soapy water is another helpful feature that can to stop mould and mildew from growing.

If you plan to use your all-terrain stroller off the road, opt for air-filled tires instead of rubber grips. They'll provide a more comfortable ride on uneven ground and will be more maneuverable in tight spaces.
