WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrade upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
