If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan which it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to keep certain areas of your home from being swept with a mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able capture many of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots had struggled. The noise levels were low and there were pleasant jingles to inform you that it was starting and finishing its work.

The biggest flaws were its simple app and the need to swap between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle a child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
