Its mopping functionality is also impressive, with the S8 Pro Ultra able to apply constant pressure of over 6 Newtons to the mop pad, resulting in deep cleaning. It also has an automatic mop lifting system which lifts the pad as it moves from laminate to tile, hardwood to carpets and rugs to prevent getting soaked by these soft surfaces.

Additionally in addition, the S8 Pro Ultra has self-washing and self-drying capabilities. The pad can be used for rinsing and drying in the dock. The dust bin will automatically empty before returning to the dock. This means that you can put it away and forget about it, only having to clean the dust bag and refill the water tank on occasion.

All this is powered by a lithium-ion battery of 5,200mAh. The S8 Pro Ultra ran on its usual vac- and mop-settings for around 160 minutes before it started to run out of power and returned to its base to recharge. This is within the range of the 180-minute time that Roborock claims, and is on par with other hybrids that I've test.

This is a highly complete and robust product, with the only drawback being the fact that it's expensive. The number of features make it an appealing choice for anyone who is looking to replace their old mops and stick vacuums. We would highly recommend this vacuum for those who can afford the cost.

2. Dreametech L10S Ultra

The Dreametech L10S Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an expensive combination. The premium price is justified by the robust features, which include a massive vacuuming capability, as well as two gyrating mop heads. It comes with an app-enabled smart controller and an advanced obstacle-avoidance system.

The L10S Ultra has a retail price of 999 euros, which is one of the highest robotic cleaer, its cost and constant maintenance would make it more an option than a necessity.

The S1 Pro has a unique mopping system that is a departure from the spinning discs and microfibre pads of other robots. The roller covers the entire width of the robot and is continuously supplied with ozonated, clean water from its dock. While it spins, the roller scrubs your floors while soaking up dirt and any dry debris is removed by the side brushes, or swept into the front colision bumper. The S1 Pro then dumps the dirty mop water into its base station which is then absorbed by the tank's heating elements, and dumped into a larger storage container. The onboard tank can hold a substantial amount of water, and can handle up to a half dozen mopping sessions before rushing out.

Like most robotic vacuums and mop sets, the S1 Pro is ready to come out from the box. It must be filled with clean water, but this is easy to do within the cleaning dock. You can also add a cleaning solution to the dock should you prefer the option of using your own cleaner. If you opt for Best Robotic Mop and Vacuum this option however, you'll have to purchase the Eufy-branded cleaning solution, which is more costly than other robot brands, allowing you to choose your preferred brand of cleaners.

The S1 Pro performed well in the coverage and efficiency of navigation tests, as did the majority of robots. It was quick to map the area and moved around furniture. It got stuck on carpets with thick piles a couple of times during my tests. However it could be improved by updating the software. The S1 Pro is an all-in-one robot that offers lots of features at a reasonable cost.

4. Roborock Qrevo

The Qrevo is Roborock's entry-level mop and vacuum. However, it still offers some impressive features. The dock's multifunction emptying the robot's dirtbag and refilling its water tanks, and washing and sanitizing mop pads is done by the dock. The mopping system itself is capable cleaning a large portion of a space before returning to its dock and the vacuum's powerful suction does a nice job of picking up debris and pet hair on carpets.

The application that runs this appliance is dense, offering a wide range of options to customize the cleaning process. You can choose to manually start a full map and clear everything that's been that the device maps, or you can pick particular rooms, expandable zones or even a routine you've set up. SmartPlan is one of the mopping options. It uses the sensors on the mop to map the space and determine the most efficient way to clean it.

Like all the Roborock models we've tested, the Qrevo is a great performer in our tests. Its navigation system is robust, mapping rooms quickly and cleaning them in a neat fashion. Its "Normal" pathing option covers the room thoroughly, without any major gaps or missed areas. The Reactive Tech hazard avoidance system works fairly well, too however it's not as sophisticated as the color camera system found on the Qrevo Master or the S8 Pro Ultra. It can spot dangers like thick carpets but it might not always recognize smaller things like rug tassels or electrical wires.

One of the biggest flaws of this device is the absence of a mop-after-vacuum option, which could be a problem for those who do a lot of vacuuming before cleaning their robot. There's a good workaround: the app includes an option to "clean up" at the end of each vacuuming session. You can make use of the vacuum's mopping capabilities to remove the last traces and dust that remained after vacuuming.
