World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item upgrader kit it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

In the final game you'll often discover that thr the most critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player improves a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it could waste lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every when you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert to its initial condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item level upgrade's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item upgrader mod are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
