Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide

Item upgrading is a key factor in maximizing your gearing potential. It allows you to add bonus stats onto your item's base level value.

Each upgrade template comes with a set of options that can be set up via the GUI. These options include the upgrading reference and the possibility of upgrading.

Upgrade components

As part of the 2.0 update the method of upgrading the armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components are available throughout Night City, and the item you want to upgrade must have an upgrade slot available. The game will display a preview of the expected stats for the item after upgrading. It will also display the required component or material. If you do not have the necessary level of material or component needed to upgrade an item then the button will say "Blocked."

The items that can be upgraded include armor and weapons, a few trinkets, and gathering tools.
