It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and works well however, it's something you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by clunky, Best Robot Vacuum That Mops boxy units.
