If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display a P00160 error message. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate an issue with the chain or a jumpy chain link in the upper timing chain. The code will not appear without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
It's a bit tricky to test because there are several connector pins, and each has its own functions. The most effective method to test it is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. 2. Injectors
Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant drop in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were drenched with gazoline the fourth was dry. When I start the engine, there are no sparks, i place a tissue on top of each injector hole, the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 connected. However, the intermittent misfire problem persists at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c, even if I unplug it. Also i noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.
I'm not sure what to do. I think I've all other possibilities out. However, i'm afraid that i might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please share them! TIA!
