However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we test the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so that they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its debris into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it began. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant use. It takes about three hours to charge.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which to get into every corner. (A second run usually works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot best auto Vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have lots of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area several times to ensure an efficient clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694, as it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs, has more advanced automation abilities and is better able to move itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords.
