World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item upgrades level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item upgrader mod could be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in n of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades the equipment they have it is replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item upgrader kit could become more expensive even if you do not require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like chances to be crit attack damage, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
