And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop using your voice.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ swiftly took away dirt, dust, and hair from pets. The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's not able to climb stairs as well as some competitors, for instance and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.

If you're looking to save some cash or don't want to think about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of alternatives available with a wide range of eufy models for substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set up, simply connect one of the side brushes, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app takes you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed near an outlet with plenty of room to move.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be placed under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from other models. It uses a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters while retaining what it's cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning where it started.

The sleek G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life. It also offers better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require as much emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky material like cereal.
